Kiwanis Club of Abilene Basketball Shootout

Basketball teams at Hardin-Simmons University and McMurry University joined with the Kiwanis Club of Abilene for the 11th Annual Basketball Shootout benefiting Children’s Miracle Network at Hendrick Children’s Hospital on Monday, January 21.

The Kiwanis Club of Abilene uses the game every January to raise money for their “Young Children Priority One” projects. Kiwanis members sell tickets and collect donations at the game.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes and First Financial Bank of Abilene partnered with Kiwanis as “change bandits,” collecting change donations for the game around town. Representatives from each organization attended the game to present the change they have collected to Children’s Miracle Network. At the game, members of Boy Scout Troop 206 collected change as well.

All donations from the Basketball Shootout go directly to Children’s Miracle Network at Hendrick Children’s Hospital to benefit children right here in the Abilene community. In the past 10 years, the Basketball Shootout has raised more than $20,000 to help local children served by Children’s Miracle Network.
