Healthcare Provider
The Healthcare Provider CPR course is designed for all licensed healthcare professionals. This certification must be renewed every two years. Only individuals who have not allowed their Healthcare Provider CPR status expire are eligible for a recertification class.
Cognitive Learning objectives:
How to access Emergency Medical Services
* Chain of Survival for Adult and Pediatric Victims
* Risk factors for heart attack and stroke
* Prevention of childhood injuries and illness
* Recognizing the signs/signals of heart attack, stroke and choking
* Must pass a written evaluation with a score of 84% or above
Psychomotor skill objectives:
Relieving an obstructed airway (choking) in a conscious victim
* Relieving an obstructed airway in an unconscious victim
* Rescue breathing
* 1 & 2 rescuer CPR
* Mouth-to-mask breathing
changes made in July of 2001, in order to obtain renewal of their certification.
