OBJECTIVES
At the completion of this presentation, the participant should be able to:
•      Discuss the state of the science in deep tissue injury pathology.
•       Describe the differential diagnoses of purple skin.
•       Identify the standard of care for treatment of deep tissue injury.

TARGET AUDIENCE:
All practicing physicians and other interested health care professionals.

Title:  12-Lead EKG Interpretation Course
Presented by Donna Paris, RN, BSN, CCRN

March 23, 2012, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

Auxiliary Conference Center, Room B
A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
A basic knowledge of EKG is required in order to take this course.

Course Objectives:

  • Describe the anatomy of the cardiac musculature, coronary arteries, mechanical structure, and conduction system of the heart.
  • Explain correct limb lead and precordial lead placement on the 12-Lead and 15-Lead ECG.
  • Identify the electrical axis and the presence of hemiblocks and bundle branch blocks.
  • Discuss the pathophysiology of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and treatment modalities for its management.
  • Identify the site of infarct on the 12- or 15-Lead ECG, the coronary artery involved, and complications of various infarct locations.
  • Describe ECG criteria for identifying ventricular tachycardia (VT).
  • Describe the ECG criteria for identifying Wolfe-Parkinson-White (WPW) Syndrome.
  • Practice a systematic assessment of a 12-Lead and 15-Lead ECG.

Emergency Room Physicians, Family Practice Physicians, Internal Medicine Physicians, Hospitalists, all interested physicians and health care professionals.

1.  Register on NetLearning.
2.  Enroll in and complete the Healthcare Provider Recertification CBLs prior to attending.  Bring transcript to the Blitz.

4.  Complete written test at CPR Blitz site.
5.  Arrive prepared to demonstrate CPR skills.
6.  Demonstration or remediation of skills will not be provided.
