Hendrick Health has been selected by Modern Healthcare as one of the 2019 Best Places to Work in Healthcare. The award program identifies and recognizes outstanding employers in the healthcare industry nationwide. Hendrick is one of 18 Texas healthcare facilities included on this year’s list.

“To be singled out as a top employer in the healthcare industry is a testament to our commitment for an empowered and satisfied workforce,” said Brad Holland, president and CEO for Hendrick Health. “We take pride in supporting, engaging and validating our more than 3,500 employees. This award comes on the heels of additional honors that recognize Hendrick for employee engagement and culture, for outstanding patient safety and clinical outcomes, as well as for superior quality care and patient experience.”

Each year, Modern Healthcare compiles a list ofoutstanding employers in healthcare based on employee responses to a confidential, in-depth survey that provides the basis for an analysis of eight core areas.

The eight areas include:

  • Leadership and Planning;
  • Corporate Culture and Communications;
  • Role Satisfaction;
  • Work Environment;
  • Relationship with Supervisor;
  • Training, Development and Resources;
  • Pay and Benefits;
  • Overall Engagement.

“Despite the political headwinds that the industry faces, healthcare organizations continue to be dominant economic engines in their communities,” said Aurora Aguilar, editor of Modern Healthcare. “Organizations recognized on this year’s list have also weathered mergers and reorganizations and have come out stronger. As evidenced every month by the Bureau of Labor Statistics employment numbers, the industry shows little sign of slowing down when it comes to creating jobs. And that puts pressure on employers to create not only robust compensation and benefit packages, but to create a sense of loyalty in competitive labor market. We congratulate the Best Places to Work in Healthcare for going above and beyond to create fulfilling environments for the nation’s professional caregivers.”

Hendrick will be honored at an awards dinner, Sept. 26 in Dallas. The ranked order of Best Places to Work in Healthcare will be revealed at the event.
