Hendrick opens newly renovated Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
The BirthPlace at Hendrick recently celebrated the completion of its newly renovated Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The Level III NICU is 12,000 square feet and includes 25 beds for babies and four private rooms. It’s equipped with the most advanced technology designed to care for our tiniest patients, including Giraffe beds, panda warmers, kangaroo chairs and therapeutic hypothermia.
At The BirthPlace at Hendrick’s NICU, the team of experts, including neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, NICU-certified registered nurses, therapists and many others, who are available 24 hours a day to provide the best care possible for patients and their families. The size of babies in the NICU can range from average full-term weight to micro-preemies, which weigh one pound or less.
