Hendrick Medical Center is one of only eight organizations worldwide to be honored with the Gallup Great Workplace Award for four years in a row. In 2007, Hendrick was among 12 organizations worldwide to receive the first Gallup Great Workplace Awards. Last year, Hendrick was among 20 organizations honored worldwide. Based on survey results and Hendrick’s workplace engagement practices, the Gallup Great Workplace Award honors Hendrick as one of the most engaged and productive workforces in the world.
Pathway to Excellence Designation
Hendrick Medical Center has achieved the Pathway to Excellence designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association (ANA). Hendrick is one of only 70 hospitals in the state to be awarded the designation, which recognizes the essential elements of an ideal nursing practice environment. The Pathway to Excellence designation identifies the elements of work environments where nurses can flourish. The designation confirms the professional satisfaction of nurses at Hendrick Medical Center and identifies it as one of the best places to work.
Diabetes Self-Management Education Program American Diabetes Association Recognition
The Hendrick Diabetes Self-Management Education program was awarded continued Recognition from the American Diabetes Association in 2009. The program has been recognized since July 2003 and is the only ADA recognized program in the region.Self-management education is an essential component of diabetes treatment. ADA recognition ensures national standards of care and consistency in the quality and quantity of education offered to people with diabetes.
American Association for Respiratory Care Quality Respiratory Care Recognition
In 2010, Hendrick Medical Center earned the Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) from the American Association for Respiratory Care for a sixth year in a row. Only 45 hospitals in Texas and about 700 of the 5,000 hospitals in the United States received the award for 2010. The award recognizes Hendrick for providing quality respiratory care services to its patients and community. Hospitals earning the award ensure patient safety by agreeing to follow a strict set of criteria to govern their services.
Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas 2008 Employer of the Year
Hendrick Medical Center was recognized as the West Central Texas Local Employer of Excellence and Employer of the Year employer in 2008. The honor earned Hendrick state recognition for outstanding service at the annual Texas Workforce Conference in December 2008.
Home Health Collaborative Quality Achievement Award
In January 2008, Hendrick HouseCalls received the Home Health Collaborative Quality Achievement Award from the TMF Health Quality Institute, the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Texas, for 2007. Out of more than 1,000 home health agencies in Texas, approximately 400 chose to work with TMF on quality improvement over the last two years. Of the participating organizations, Hendrick HouseCalls was one of 51 to receive the Quality Achievement Award. Hendrick HouseCalls received the award for reaching required levels of improvement in two quality measures: preventing avoidable hospitalizations and improving how patients take their medications.
American Stroke Association Get With The Guidelines
The American Stroke Association has recognized Hendrick Medical Center as meeting the criteria of the Get With The Guidelines Stroke Program, making Hendrick a preferred hospital for stroke victims. To earn the designation, participating hospitals have to meet criteria regarding stroke treatment, prevention and staff preparation and teamwork. Most hospitals who implement the guidelines see measurable results in the form of improved patient outcomes.
