Volunteer Service is the giving of one's self mentally, spiritually and physically to care for the sick, the needy and the aged.
More than 385 volunteers collectively donate more than 37,000 hours each year. Those hours have meant a friendly smile and help to so many people, making Hendrick Medical Center a better place to be.

Who we are.What we do

The primary purpose of the Volunteer Services Department is to assist patients, families and visitors. Volunteers specialize in services that add to the comfort, care and happiness of patients and their families. The department consists of adult, college and junior volunteers working in a variety of positions within the medical center and its affiliates.
Hendrick Medical Center recognizes the contributions the volunteers make to the hospital as being vital to the support of the staff, patients and family members. Each year, the volunteers are honored at a special awards celebration.
