For the safety of our community, Hendrick is proceeding cautiously and we ask that you continue to practice safe and healthy prevention methods inside our facilities.

To Keep You Safe

COVID-19 Screening
All visitors and patients will be asked COVID-19 screening assessment questions at designated entry points. This screening is based on CDC guidelines for identifying respiratory illnesses, including coronavirus.

Symptoms of COVID-19:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Sore throat
  • Weakness
  • Muscle pain
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Loss of smell

Increased Cleaning Protocols

Hendrick continues working to make sure all care sites are clean and safe. Added precautionary cleaning activities include:

  • Enhanced UV light sterilization;
  • Designated campus cleaning teams dedicated to clean all high-touch surfaces in public areas;
  • Daily terminal cleaning of all public spaces, including continuous rounding during the day to disinfect.

Masks/PPE

All patients, visitors and staff are required to wear the appropriate form of personal protection equipment, covering the nose and mouth. Cloth coverings or masks will be available for individuals if they do not have one.

Hand Sanitizing Stations - sanitizing stations are located at entry screening points. Please use these upon arrival and departure while also practicing good hand hygiene for the duration of your visit.

Visitation

Policy effective date: February 19, 2022
  • All visitors will be required to check-in upon entry.
  • All visitors must wear a mask covering their nose and mouth as per state and federal guidelines for all healthcare facilities.
  • Visitation is restricted to two visitors per non-COVID patient in the facility at a time with greater restrictions in some areas.
  • Visitors under the age of 16 are permitted for non-COVID patients and must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.
  • Additional screenings and personal protective equipment may be required for those entering certain areas.
  • Follow physical distancing guidelines.
  • Anyone experiencing fever or other signs of infection will not be allowed entrance.

* Exceptions may apply for pediatrics and end-of-life.

Physical Distancing

All Hendrick facilities, including waiting rooms, will adhere to safe social distancing – individuals to keep at least six feet apart from others.

Medical Procedures and Clinic Visits

Surgeries/Procedures

Pre-screening for Surgery Patients - Prior to surgeries or complex procedures, patients will be screened for COVID-19. If deemed appropriate by the physician, a patient may also be required to undergo COVID-19 testing.

Visitation – Hendrick will continue to limit the number of visitors to two people per patient. Anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or is awaiting test results, will not be allowed to visit patients or accompany patients undergoing surgeries or procedures.

Masks and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – All patients, visitors and staff are required to wear the appropriate form of personal protection equipment, covering the nose and mouth. Cloth coverings or masks will be available for individuals if they do not have one. If you have a mask, please bring it with you to wear in our facilities.

Telehealth and In-Person Clinic Visits

Hendrick telehealth capabilities have expanded, and access to many of your physicians and specialists is now available. Our healthcare providers have implemented additional safety precautions in their offices. For more information and available appointment options, contact your doctor directly.
