Hendrick Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Pulmonary Rehabilitation is an evidence-based, multidisciplinary program for patients with chronic respiratory diseases who are symptomatic and have decreased quality of life. This program is one of only ten in the state of Texas that is nationally certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR).

Pulmonary Rehabilitation should be considered for patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and other chronic respiratory diseases that have shortness of breath, decreased quality of life, impaired exercise tolerance, and decreased ability to perform activities of daily living.

The goal of Pulmonary Rehabilitation is to improve quality of life, reduce symptoms and teach patients how to manage their chronic respiratory disease. The program includes:

  • Educational sessions including topics such as nutrition, medication, and breathing techniques
  • Individually tailored exercise program
  • Exercise maintenance program
  • Wellness tools

Better Breathers Club

Presented by Hendrick Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Better Breathers Club provides support and information for local residents of all ages with breathing-related illnesses. For details about monthly meeting, call 325-670-2280.

Hendrick Pulmonary Rehabilitation partners with COPD Foundation as a participant in the Pulmonary Education Program. This offers a unique opportunity to reach individuals diagnosed with COPD and ensures they are receiving ongoing support, resources and the necessary tools for proper disease management to promote long-term benefits after pulmonary rehab.
