Welcome to Hendrick Health

Hendrick Health was founded in 1924 as a not-for-profit healthcare institution in response to a community need for quality healthcare. Today, Hendrick Health includes Hendrick Medical Center, licensed for 540 beds, and a comprehensive range of healthcare services, including women’s health, orthopedics, rehabilitation, oncology, neuroscience, cardiovascular, neonatal intensive care and children’s services.

With more than 3,600 employees, Hendrick is one of the largest standalone health systems in Texas and serves 24 surrounding counties.

The organization’s services extend to the south side of Abilene with a medical plaza and an emergency care center. Recently, a dialysis center and a freestanding pediatric therapy gym were opened in Abilene. Hendrick also offers care in Brownwood with an outpatient surgery center and a medical plaza.

Hendrick has received the Gallup Great Workplace Award 14 years in a row, the 2020 Modern Healthcare Best Places to Work for the second year, as well as earned the Pathway to Excellence designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the 2020 CHIME Digital Health Most Wired, Level 8 Acute recognition.
