A Message from Hendrick Health

As a leading healthcare provider in our region, Hendrick Health has always focused on high quality, safe healthcare. Hendrick is prepared to treat COVID-19 patients who may come our way. We have been treating highly infectious diseases, like flu, MRSA and C-diff for decades. During this unprecedented time, our goal remains the same - to safely treat any disease. Hendrick is committed to protecting our patients, visitors and healthcare providers against the spread of COVID-19.

We encourage you to protect yourself and others by adopting these measures.

  • Wear a mask in public.
  • Practice social distancing.
  • Wash your hands often.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

Hendrick Medical Center Visitor Restrictions

Visitation at Hendrick Medical Center (main) and Hendrick Medical Center South is limited to one essential caregiver on hospital campus at a time, both inside and outside of all facilities. Family members of patients who are experiencing imminent end of life, as validated by the Nursing Supervisor, also will be screened before entering. Persons who do not abide by visitor restrictions may be asked to leave the campus.

Limited Public Entrances

Public access into Hendrick Medical Center will be restricted to three entrances.

  • Main Entrance - 1900 Pine St. (24/7)
  • Shelton Building - 2000 Pine St. (Mon-Fri; 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
  • Jones Building - 1924 Pine St. (Mon-Fri; 5 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.)

Public access into Hendrick Medical Center South will be restricted to three entrances.

  • Main Entrance - (Mon-Fri; 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
  • Outpatient Pavilion - (Mon-Fri; 5 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
  • Women's Center - Staff, wound care patients, and women's diagnostic imaging patients may enter at 6:30 a.m. Visitors may enter at 9:00 a.m. Entrance closes at 5:00 p.m.

Emergency Department

The Emergency Department entrance is open for emergencies only. If you feel you are having a medical emergency, please proceed to the Emergency Department.

Class and Event Cancellations

Based on CDC guidance and in an effort to support social distancing to decrease the likelihood of COVID-19 transmission, Hendrick Health is canceling several classes and community events.

Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood Visitor Restrictions

The recent rise in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in the community have prompted Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood to update its visitor access policy. Effective November 11, no visitors will be permitted in Hendrick Medical Center and all Hendrick facilities.

However, minimal exceptions allow for one essential, symptom-free caregiver to accompany a patient under certain circumstances, including:

  • If patient is delivering a baby

  • If patient is a minor (essential caregiver must be a parent or legal guardian)

  • If patient has disabilities

  • If assistance is required in order to maintain patient’s safety

Limited Public Entrances

The main entrance will be open 6 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday.

Emergency Department

Emergency Services are available 24/7. Individuals requiring emergency services should enter through the Emergency Walk-In Entrance, unless arriving by ambulance.
