For more than 60 years, Hendrick Cardiovascular Care has delivered exceptional care to heart patients in Abilene and the surrounding area. At Hendrick, we combine high level physician expertise, years of medical experience and today’s most advanced technology treatments to provide a full range of services for patients, all in one location.
Our multidisciplinary team includes cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons and specially trained nurses, technicians and therapists, all working together to provide patients access to cardiac care 24 hours a day. In addition, holter monitor application and removal service is provided remotely at Stephens Memorial Hospital, Haskell County Hospital and Stamford Memorial Hospital.
Comprehensive Cardiovascular Care Services
The Joint Commission recently recognized Hendrick Medical Center with certification
for our Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) Program. The program focuses
on the adult population of patients diagnosed with a heart attack. Achievement
of this certification signifies the organization’s dedication to
providing quality care to our patients. Hendrick Medical Center serves
patients from the surrounding 19 counties. The program recently underwent
a rigorous on-site review in May of 2019. A Joint Commission expert reviewed
our compliance with the requirements for the Joint Commission’s
Disease-Specific Care Certification programs. Hendrick received its initial
Chest Pain Center with PCI Accreditation in 2011.
Our AMI program combines the efforts of the Hendrick Emergency Department with the Abilene Fire Department, as well as facilities and emergency services from the surrounding area. The program's processes begin before the patient arrives at Hendrick and continues throughout the patient's stay, including the patient's transition home.
The program focus is to promote health by following guideline-directed medical therapy, encouraging timely follow-up after hospitalization, adherence to prescribed medication therapy and participating in Cardiac Rehab after discharge. Our multidisciplinary team is committed to providing quality care to our patients.
Hendrick Cardiac Rehabilitation recently earned The Beverly Spraggins Award of Excellence from the Texas Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. The award is given in “recognition of outstanding contribution in the field of cardiac rehabilitation.”
The mission of Texas Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation is to reduce morbidity, mortality and disability from cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases through prevention, education, rehabilitation and aggressive disease management.
