Shannon E. Cooke, MD

About Shannon

Shannon Cooke, MD, received his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas in Austin. He completed his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and residency at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. For a time, Dr. Cooke was the chief orthopedic surgeon for the 325th Medical Operation Squadron at Tyndall Air Force Base near Panama City, Florida. He is now happy to be serving the Abilene community at Hendrick Bone and Joint.

Dr. Cooke finds fulfillment in treating patients and their families over their lifetime with a focus on maintaining a full continuum of care. He enjoys “fixing things rather than managing things,” he said, adding that seeing the difference he can make in a patient’s quality of life is very satisfying.
