Pathway to Excellence Designation

Hendrick Medical Center has achieved the Pathway to Excellence designation for the fourth time from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association (ANA). The Pathway to Excellence designation recognizes the essential elements of an ideal nursing practice environment where nurses can flourish. The designation confirms the professional satisfaction of nurses at Hendrick Medical Center and identifies it as one of the best places to work. Hendrick first received the distinction in 2007, and was re-designated in 2010, 2013 and 2016. Institutions are eligible to receive designation every three years.

Nurse Residency Program

At Hendrick, we understand the challenges nurses face in their transition from student to professional, particularly in the first year. The Hendrick Nurse Residency Program is the bridge between education and practice, using three components to prepare and to support newly licensed RNs as they build careers devoted to caring for others.

  • 12 month program
  • Monthly seminars cover leadership, quality outcomes, professional role, and evidenced-based practice
  • All newly licensed RNs are automatically enrolled into the program
New critical care unit nurses at Hendrick Medical Center will also be part of a CCU fellowship. Start dates for the program are as follows:

August 2023 RN Graduates
