Hendrick Hospice Care is offering an opportunity to learn about healing during the holidays at Grief and the Holidays: Grieving, Remembering & Celebrating, Saturday, Nov. 9, from 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. The seminar will be held in Hendrick Hospice Care Center’s Davis Bereavement Center, 1651 Pine St. in Abilene.

“We are no strangers to grief, but we can be friends for each other,” said Dr. Lauren Templeton, Hendrick Hospice Care. “Grief & the Holidays is a wonderful opportunity to share in sadness but also in joy, and find new meaning to the upcoming holiday season.”

For those who have lost a loved one, the holiday season can be a painful reminder of their loss. However, there are steps people can take to give the holidays a new meaning and experience healing. At the seminar, speakers will cover topics including basic grief information, ways to care for yourself during the holidays, ideas for honoring a loved one, exploring coping strategies and finding hope and spiritual strength.

Grief and the Holidays is offered as a free community service by Hendrick Hospice Care. Reservations are required by Nov. 6. For more information or to reserve a seat, call 325.670.6999 or 800.623.8516.
