Hendrick Health accepting applications for summer Junior Volunteers for Abilene, Brownwood hospitals

ABILENE, Texas – Hendrick Health is now accepting applications for its Junior Volunteer program, which offers teenagers the chance to engage in meaningful community service while exploring career options in healthcare. Opportunities are available at the healthcare system’s campuses in Abilene and Brownwood.

“During the summer, our junior volunteers are visible throughout the hospitals and clinics serving in various roles in clinical and nonclinical areas,” said Sabra Knox, manager of Volunteer Services at Hendrick Health.

Applicants must be 14 years old by Aug. 31, 2026, to qualify for the program. Flexible schedules are available to accommodate sports, camps, vacations and other summer activities.

At Hendrick Medical Center in north Abilene and Hendrick Medical Center South in south Abilene, junior volunteer positions are available in multiple areas, including information desks, gift shops, Radiology, Central Supply, Admissions, Health Information Management, snack cart, coffee shop and nursing units.

Junior volunteers at Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood in Brownwood can serve in the Women’s and Children’s units, Laboratory, Central Supply, Radiology, Human Resources, Gastroenterology Lab, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Medical Records, gift shop and snack cart.

To apply, visit hendrickhealth.org, click on the “Community” tab and then select “Volunteer Services.” Applicants can also call 325-670-2317 in Abilene or 325-649-3392 in Brownwood to request a form.

Applications must be received by May 1, 2026. Orientation sessions will be June 1, 2026, in Abilene and Brownwood.
