In recognition of National Donate Life Month, Hendrick Health will pay tribute to organ donors and their families in April with flag-raising ceremonies at all three hospital campuses.
The public is invited to attend the following ceremonies, which are hosted in partnership with Southwest Transplant Alliance:
• Thursday, April 9, 11 a.m.: Hendrick Medical Center South (inside main lobby)
• Thursday, April 16, 11 a.m.: Hendrick Medical Center (outside main entrance)
• Wednesday, April 29, 10 a.m.: Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood (outside main entrance)
In the United States, more than 100,000 men, women and children need an organ transplant to live. While more people are registering as organ donors, the demand continues to increase. Every eight minutes, a person is added to the national transplant waiting list, and each day, 13 individuals die while waiting.
In 2025, seven organ donors from Hendrick Health saved 13 lives and provided tissue donations for another 20 individuals.
