Hendrick Employees Wear Mask to Protect Themselves and Others
With the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recent guidance urging Americans to wear cloth face coverings in public, Hendrick Health is requiring all employees to wear masks to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. All employees in non-direct patient care roles, including administrators and nonclinical staff, will wear cloth masks. All medical personnel and staff members with direct patient care will wear masks and eye protection.

“We are all wearing masks to protect our co-workers, families and ourselves,” said Brad Holland, president and CEO for Hendrick Health. “Since we now know that the virus can be transmitted by individuals who may not experience symptoms and by those who may eventually develop symptoms (‘pre-symptomatic’), we have implemented this additional precaution. Wearing cloth face coverings AND social distancing are critical steps to slow the spread of the virus.”

Through the generosity of this community, Hendrick has distributed approximately 1,700 masks to employees and patients.

“We want to thank each of you for helping us keep our community safe during the COVID-19 crisis,” said Holland. “Please know that every mask will be used.”

A drop-off bin is available outside of Hendrick Medical Center’s doors at the main entrance. All mask designs will be accepted. For more information, please email cramsey@hendrickhealth.org or call 325-670-2317.

If you or someone you know is experiencing a fever, cough and/or shortness of breath or have been exposed to someone with a confirmed positive of COVID-19, please complete the online screening by texting “covidhelp” to 325-216-4824 or visit hendrickhealth.virtriage.com/#/covidhelp.
