Hendrick moves COVID-19 Community Safety Dial to Level 5; Visitation updates

Today, Hendrick Health moved the COVID-19 Community Safety Dial to Level 5: Critical. Effective Wednesday, Aug. 11, Hendrick is reinstating its visitation policy to one person per patient in a Hendrick facility at a time. Masks are required at all facilities. Visitors must check-in at the screening/check-in stations, and no visitors under the age of 16 will be permitted. For COVID-19 positive patients, visitors will not be allowed. Exceptions may apply for pediatrics and end-of-life.

We understand the importance of visiting loved ones in the hospital or accompanying them to doctors’ visit, so we encourage patients to use virtual options to stay connected. Hendrick waiting rooms, cafeterias, gift shops and coffee shops will be open to designated visitors.

Vaccinations have proven to be the most effective way to protect individuals from COVID-19 and from the risk of serious illness or hospitalization.

As a reminder, if you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, it is important to get tested as soon as possible and avoid others when possible and wear a mask at all times until you receive the test results.

If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, text “covidhelp” to 325-216-4824 to take a virtual screening and schedule an appointment for testing. You can also schedule a vaccine by texting “covidhelp” to 325-216-4824.

EMERGENCY ROOMS AND MEDICAL PROVIDERS’ OFFICES WILL REMAIN OPEN! It’s important for individuals to seek medical care, when necessary. Please keep all scheduled healthcare appointments. In case of an emergency, dial 9-1-1 or go immediately to the nearest emergency room.
