Hendrick Health announces plans for new service center

Hendrick Health announced plans today to open a new shared service center in the former Sears building, located in the Mall of Abilene. Hendrick Service Center was purchased to provide a centralized accessible hub for patient services.

“This new service center is another way Hendrick is expanding access to our services and extending our mission while reducing inefficiency and fragmentation,” said Brad Holland, president and CEO of Hendrick Health. “By relocating existing administrative and retail services currently housed in and around our campuses, we can reallocate valuable space to expand clinical services for patients.”

Future plans for the 158,000-square-foot building will include the following services and departments:

  • Billing/Business Services
  • Medical Records/Release Information and Health Information Management
  • Hendrick Clinic Access Center, including physician scheduling and insurance verification
  • Supply Chain
  • Print Shop
  • Warehouse/Distribution Center
  • Human Resources
  • Professional Education and Development
  • IT Business Applications

Additionally, Hendrick Medical Supply, which specializes in durable medical equipment and supplies, will move its retail store from North 8th St. to the north entrance of the new Hendrick Service Center. Hendrick HouseCalls also will move its main offices from Ambler Avenue.

Renovations are scheduled to begin October 2021 with projected completion November 2022.
