Hendrick Hospice Care's Light Up a Life campaign in full swing

Hendrick Hospice Care's Light Up a Life campaign is in full swing. This annual fundraiser allows Hendrick Hospice Care to provide compassionate end-of-life care and bereavement services to families, regardless of ability to pay.

As the most experienced hospice in the region, Hendrick Hospice Care has been serving a 13-county area around Abilene since 1982. Care is provided at home and in nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, hospitals and the Hendrick Hospice Care Center standalone inpatient facility at 1651 Pine Street.

“We’re so honored and privileged to support financially, physically and spiritually those who are struggling with such a difficult time in their life,” said Hendrick Hospice Care Medical Director Dr. Lauren Templeton.

During the 2021 fiscal year, Hendrick Hospice Care provided more than $464,700 in charity care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Donations to the Light Up a Life campaign can be made at the secure website hendrickhospice.org. A gift also can be used to honor someone on a brick ($250), paver ($500) or tree ($500) at the hospice center.

For a $20 gift, a name can be added to a paper bulb ornament on the Light Up a Life tree at the Mall of Abilene near Best Buy and Books-A-Million.

Every dollar contributed to the Light Up a Life campaign goes toward patient care. For information, call Hendrick Hospice Care at 325-670-2273.
