Bereavement
Hendrick Hospice Care bereavement support is available to the community
free of charge, regardless of whether you have utilized our hospice services.
For those who have lost a loved one on our services, bereavement support
is offered to families for at least 15 months following death.
Adult Grief
Some of the services we offer include:
- Limited sessions of individual grief support via phone, email, or in-person visits
- Online resources about grief
- Literature about grief

Support Groups: 8-week long curriculum-based grief groups. Groups begin
several times throughout the year as determined by interest. Please call
325.670.6951 to request that your name be added to our contact list or
fill out an
interest form here.
- Grief in the Holidays: An educational program to help individuals experience
healing during the holiday season. Topics include: basic grief information,
ways to care for yourself during the holidays and coping strategies. There
is no charge for this program.
- Celebration of Life Candlelight Memorial Service: A memorial service to
honor the lives and celebrate the legacies of Hendrick Hospice Care patients
who have passed.
- Assistance with locating community resources, including referrals to mental
health professionals.

Children’s Grief
Hendrick Hospice Care provides grief programs for children and teens who
have experienced a loss. Losses are varied and could include but are not
limited to death, divorce, separation, incarceration and deployment. All
programs are offered at no-cost thanks to generous donations through Children’s
Miracle Network Hospitals. There is a $10 application fee for Camp Courage.

- Assistance with locating community resources, including referrals to mental
health professionals

Club Courage: a six-week support group offered twice a year for children and teens
grades kindergarten – 12th grade, who have experienced a loss through
death, divorce, separation, incarceration, deployment or other painful
transition

Camp Courage: a summer day-camp for children entering 3rd through 12th grade who have
experienced the death of a loved one.
