Childbirth classes are offered at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene for families planning to deliver at Hendrick Medical Center, Hendrick Medical Center South or Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood.

Childbirth Series
The staff at Hendrick Medical Center and your physician encourage and support family participation in childbirth education. This series of classes is aimed to teach you and your coach information about labor and delivery, pain and stress management skills, choices of pain medications, anesthesia and variations of labor, hospital routines and Cesarean births. We believe a good understanding of the birth process is essential to the health and well-being of you and your baby. Our birth education classes will provide you and your family with the information necessary to allow you to feel as comfortable as possible as you prepare for the birth of your baby.

Advance registration required for all in-person classes.

Abilene
Classes scheduled in Auxiliary Conference Center are located in Hendrick Medical Center’s Shelton Building, 2000 Pine Street, second floor. For classes scheduled in the L&D Classroom, enter through Hendrick Medical Center’s Jones Building and take the Jones Building elevators to the fourth floor.
