President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Holland became president and CEO of Hendrick Health in January 2019.
He came to Abilene from Cedar Park Regional Medical Center in Cedar Park,
located near Austin, where he served as CEO since 2012.
As Cedar Park Regional Medical Center CEO, Holland was responsible for successfully developing multiple service lines, including pediatrics, interventional cardiology, neurology and stroke services.
Holland’s healthcare career began in 2000 as director of operations for Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 2003, he accepted the position of chief operating officer (COO) for Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin, Texas. After three years in Lufkin, he relocated to Vicksburg, Mississippi, to become administrator and COO for River Region Health System. In 2008, Holland returned to Texas to lead San Angelo Community Medical Center as CEO.
Raised in San Angelo, Holland earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Southwest Texas State University and a master's degree in healthcare administration from Trinity University in San Antonio. He is a Fellow of the American College of Health Executives.
Hendrick Health Vice President, Chief Strategy and Experience Officer
Mr. Bessent received his bachelor's degree in speech pathology at Hardin-Simmons University in 1996 and master's degree in speech pathology in 1998 at the University of North Texas in Denton. He began working at Hendrick in 1999 and served as Director of Rehabilitation beginning in 2008. In 2013, he was promoted to assistant vice president, then to vice president of post-acute and transitional services in 2015. He served as assistant vice president and was later promoted to vice president of coordinated and post-acute care. He became HMC South COO at acquisition in October 2020 and then was named chief administrative officer in 2021. Brian is responsible for the health system’s overall strategy and will oversee Information Technology, Strategic Communication and Digital Experience, Mission and Ministry, Legislative and Public Policy, and Patient Experience. Mr. Bessent is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives .
Hendrick Health Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Canada received a Bachelor of Science from Angelo State University, Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Doctor of Science from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. Kirk began at Hendrick in September 2012 as a physical therapist. In December 2017, he shifted to an administrative role as the director of Regional Services. He was named assistant vice president of Business Development and Post-Acute Services in October 2020. In 2021, he was promoted to Hendrick Health vice president and Abilene Market COO.
Hendrick Health Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer
Ms. Greenwood joined Hendrick in January 2020 and has been working in healthcare
for more than 30 years. Most recently, she served as Chief Nursing Officer
for Eastland Memorial Hospital District in Eastland. Ms. Greenwood began
her nursing career as a staff nurse and clinic manager in Monticello,
Ark., which predated her long and successful tenure at St. Bernard’s
Healthcare in Jonesboro, Ark. She is a registered nurse and earned an
associate of applied science in nursing from North Arkansas College, as
well as a bachelor of science in nursing at Jacksonville University in
Jacksonville, Fla. She completed a master’s degree in business administration
from Ellis College of Business at New York Institute of Technology and
a doctorate of nursing practice from Baylor University. Ms. Greenwood
is also a Fellow of American College of Healthcare Executives and a certified
professional in Healthcare Quality, in addition to serving on the Board
for Texas Organization of Nurse Executives.
Hendrick Health Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Walker obtained a bachelor's degree in accounting from Freed-Hardeman University in Tennessee. He received his master's degree from Oklahoma Christian University. Mr. Walker has extensive hospital accounting experience, serving as vice president of Finance at Medical Center of Arlington for three years prior to joining Hendrick in September 2013.
Hendrick Health Vice President, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Quality Officer
Dr. Wiley, an Abilene native, graduated sum cum laude from Hardin-Simmons
University in 1987 and earned his medical degree with honors from the
University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1991. After
completing a pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Oklahoma
(OU) in 1994, he joined Pediatric Associates of Abilene the following
year, where he continues practicing today. His areas of interest in pediatrics
include behavioral/developmental medicine and general pediatrics. Dr.
Wiley is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
In June 2020, Dr. Wiley was named Chief Medical Officer for Hendrick Health. In this role, he oversees and is responsible for managing the organization's physicians to provide safe and effective healthcare to the communities served by Hendrick Health.
As co-founder of the Legends Dove Hunt, Dr. Wiley is actively involved with Children’s Miracle Network. He is also involved with Pioneer Drive Baptist Church and Young Life, and previously served on the Hardin-Simmons Board of Trustees.
