Our organization, from leadership to frontline personnel, is unified in the pursuit of high reliability and zero preventable harm. A strong culture of safety and patient-centered practices supports our teams in voicing any concerns regarding patient care. The organization is defined by its commitment to six Strategic Pillars: Quality and Safety, Engagement, Operational Efficiencies, Connected Care, Growth and Capacity and Access.

What Does Zero Preventable Harm Mean?

Zero Preventable Harm is the commitment to eliminating preventable or avoidable harm to patients by identifying and addressing risks before they occur. Hendrick Health’s organizational efforts to support a culture of safety and a goal of zero preventable harm, including:

  • Clinical and non-clinical staff systemwide participate in a “safety huddle” every morning to review current operational and safety priorities, recent certifications or recognitions and important updates related to the organization.
  • Standardized tools and processes are utilized to improve safety practices across the health system.
  • Adoption of evidence-based practices to guide the patient's care journey.

To support a culture of safety, behavioral expectations are defined for clinical and non-clinical staff to personally commit to safety, be accountable for clear and complete communication and to remove barriers to cross-functional collaboration.

Hendrick Health strives to provide safe, effective and compassionate healthcare, focusing on desired patient outcomes across its various facilities and services.
