Child life specialists provide psycho-social and emotional support for children and their families to promote a positive experience and nurture your child’s growth and development. They also play a vital role in educating not only children but their family’s caregivers, administrators, and the general public about the needs of children under stress.
Our goal at Hendrick Children's Hospital at Hendrick Medical Center is to make hospitalization a positive and less stressful experience. Our pediatric unit features a floor plan with a large playroom, a teen room, and an outside terrace.

Thank you for your interest in giving to the children and teens hospitalized at Hendrick Children’s Hospital. A hospital stay is a stressful and difficult time for children and their families. To meet the needs of all patients and families, we ask that any donated items be appropriate for all ages and medical conditions. Donations and gifts are used throughout the hospital for patients, infants to teenagers. All donated items must be new, and toys must be washable (plastic, wood).
